Color Aloud names colours out loud from your phone's camera. This page says what stays on your phone, what leaves it, when, and where it goes. It is written to match, word for word, the sentence you can read inside the app under Settings → What leaves this phone:
Colour naming happens entirely on this phone. What leaves it is for the assistant only: when you open the assistant screen, a code that says this phone is allowed to ask; when you press Ask, the picture (both pictures when you compare two), your question, the marks you placed, and the earlier questions and answers about the same picture. A spoken question and an internet voice go through your phone's own speech service, not through us. Your pictures, your palette and your settings stay here.

Uninstalling the app deletes all of this. Inside the app, History → Forget deletes a picture and everything read from it, and Settings clears the palette and pairs.
Only the optional assistant (part of Color Aloud Pro) sends anything. If you never open the assistant screen, nothing leaves the phone.

Everything we send travels over HTTPS.
Nobody else. No analytics service, no advertising network, no crash-reporting service receives anything from this app.
No account is created. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, advertising identifier, or anything from your phone beyond what §2 lists. The app asks for the camera (to name colours), the microphone (only if you press the speak button), and access to photos you pick (only the picture you choose, through the system picker).
Color Aloud is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
If what leaves the phone ever changes, the sentence in the app changes, this page changes with it, and the effective date at the top is updated. The two are meant to be identical; if you find that they are not, that is a bug — please tell us.

Color Aloud is made by an individual developer in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. The UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to what this page describes; the lawful basis for the assistant's processing is the contract you enter by using it, and for the server's usage records our legitimate interest in keeping the service within its allowance. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we have handled your data wrongly.
